Complaints

Lately, I don't enjoy listening to music based on any tonal system I already recognize. Songs with chords and progressions are right out.  Even micro-tonality doesn't interest me. Maybe it's the incremental nature of the divisions between notes I find artificial and annoying, like language and the fences it puts around meanings, the way your thoughts are subjugated to symbolic representations of themselves.  That's how music is for me lately.  I've tried listening to various noise genre compositions, and while I can find them at times to be almost soothing,  I also find them a bit absurd and ridiculous.  So what do I do?  Where is newness? There isn't any, is there? It's just like this. Everything sounds like everything else.  I'm shackled to the limits of my muddy perceptions.  And I seem to be complaining about it, just to charm things up a bit. Have you ever noticed how many pop songs are really just complaints?
