This inventive and fertile period for songwriting and 4-track recording is often overlooked (by me, mostly, and as hard as possible) because it's so raw and unlistenable. But lately I've been considering the whole of that year's output and it's pretty diverse. So diverse, in fact, that I think the year deserves its own page. There are lots of instrumentals (with some very over-enthusiastic drum machine playing), many heartfelt ballads, and quite a few examples of what must be early-onset dementia or just incipient madness. I'll add more as I mix them down. Enjoy!
